ScanSource names new CFO

Greenville-based ScanSource Inc. named Charles Mathis as CFO to replace Richard P. Cleys, who is retiring.

Mathis previously served as the CFO of Force Protection Inc., an armored vehicle manufacturer and defense contractor in Ladson that was acquired by General Dynamics Inc. in 2011.

He brings international experience to ScanSource, having conducted business throughout Europe, Latin America and Asia-Pacific, according to a news release.

Beginning his career in investment banking at Salomon Brothers, Mathis later held leadership positions at United Dominion Industries Inc., EnPro Industries Inc. and Elbit Systems Ltd.

“Charles brings a strength of experience, financial leadership, and international depth of knowledge that will serve ScanSource well as we continue to grow and take our business to new heights,” ScanSource CEO Mike Baur said in a news release.

ScanSource distributes specialty technology products like point-of-sale, barcoding, communications and security equipment, among other technologies.
