A Walmart store is expected to open this spring in Powdersville and employ 275 associates.
The mega retailer recently opened a temporary hiring and application center at 115 Siloam Road in Powdersville. The store is hiring full- and part-time employees in all areas of the store, including supervisory positions.
“Walmart provides good jobs with opportunities for career growth, and we look forward to talking with candidates who are interested in joining our store’s team,” said store manager Ginny Marhanka.
The majority of associates will begin work in February to help prepare the store for its grand opening.
The hiring center is open Monday through Saturday from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. Applicants can also apply online. The Powdersville store also will host a hiring event on Thursday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Easley Walmart at 115 Rolling Hills Road.
As of October 2012, Walmart had 87 stores in South Carolina. Walmart has more than 10,000 retail units in 27 countries. It is traded on the New York Stock Exchange as WMT.
