Upstate Forever’s ForeverGreen Annual Awards Luncheon
What: Upstate Forever’s annual awards luncheon celebrates individuals and organizations who have made progress toward protecting special places and promoting sensible growth in the Upstate. The program will include lunch, the awards presentation and a keynote address from Nell Newman, conservationist and president of Newman’s Own Organics.
When: Thursday, 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Fifth Annual Art and Antique Show
What: The Spartanburg Art Museum will host this annual art and antique show, benefiting the Spartanburg Art Museum. The show gives Upstate residents an opportunity to learn about 18th and 19th century antiques.

Human Nature Exhibition
What: The Milliken Art Gallery presents a series of paintings by Harry Walton Boone.

Greenville Chamber Annual Meeting
What: The Greenville Chamber will host its annual meeting with keynote speaker David T. Seaton, chairman and CEO of Fluor Corp. The dinner will include the presentation of the chamber’s annual awards.

Where: TD Convention Center, 1 Exposition Drive, Greenville.

South Carolina Historical Textiles Exhibit
What: This exhibit features the history of textile manufacturing throughout the state, especially in Greenwood County. It is sponsored by The Self Family Foundation and created by the state museum of South Carolina.
When: Friday and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Where: The Museum, 106 Main St., Greenwood.

5th Annual State of Oconee Lunch
What: Oconee County’s chamber will host its annual State of Oconee Lunch on the progress the county has made toward being business and industry friendly. Speakers include Richard Blackwell, executive director of Oconee County Economic Development Commission; Larry Smith, plant manager of Schneider Electric; Neal Workman, board chairman of Trehel Corp.; Stan Griffis, head of operations at AID; and Maceo Nance, small business and rural development director with the S.C. Department of Commerce.
When: Friday, 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Where: West Oak Middle School, 501 Westminster Highway, Westminster.

Black History Health Fair
The African American Leadership Council of United Way of Anderson County will hold its black history event, themed The History of Black Health: Choices that Change Our Future. There will be vendors on hand with information on health, healthy food samples, mini workout demonstrations and health insurance. AnMed Health will also provide health screenings.
When: Friday, noon to 3 p.m.

Oscar-Nominated Short Films
What: View all the Oscar-nominated short films before the winner is announced.

Wasted Wine, SHEL and Tonight’s Noise with Lewis Baxter

Artists’ Guild Member Awards Show
The Artists’ Guild of Spartanburg will host the first annual Artists’ Guild Member Awards Show. This is the guild’s first non-juried competition, allowing all members to submit a piece in the showcase. The public will vote for its favorite pieces of art. The winners will be announced Feb. 28.
When: Friday and Saturday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Sunday, 1 to 5 p.m.
Where: Chapman Cultural Center, 200 E. St. John St., Spartanburg.

South Carolina RV & Camping Show
What: A recreational vehicle and camping show.
When: Friday, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.; Saturday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Sunday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Friday Starry Nights
What: The Roper Mountain Science Center hosts shows at the Daniel Observatory to observe the stars and planets seen through the eighth largest telescope of its kind in the nation.
When: Friday, 7 or 8:15 p.m.
Where: Roper Mountain Science Center, 402 Roper Mountain Road, Greenville.
Cost: $5 for adults; $4 for children, ages 5 to 12, and for senior citizens, age 60 and older.

Alchemy Improv Comedy
What: Alchemy Improv Comedy entertains audiences every Friday night with a different guest storyteller each week. It’s fully improvised. The early show will feature the cast of Alchemy Comedy.
When: Friday, 8 and 9:30 p.m.
Where: Coffee Underground, 1 E. Coffee St., Greenville.
Cost: $5 per person for the 8 p.m. show and $8 per person for the 9:30 p.m. show. Get tickets at the door.

City Park Design Charette
The city of Greenville has planned a workshop for citizens to provide input on a proposed park near A.J. Whittenberg Elementary School. The park would sit next to the Reedy River along the Swamp Rabbit Trail and is seen by the city as a catalyst for development on the West Side.
When: Saturday, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Where: Kroc Center, 424 Westfield St., Greenville.

The Foothills Gala — Diamonds and Denim Charity Party
What: The 12th annual Foothills Gala will benefit Collins Home and Family Ministries, Helping Hands of Clemson and Anderson Oconee Speech and Hearing. The event will feature a buffet, beverages, dancing, an entertainment casino and silent auction.
When: Saturday, 6:30 to 11:30 p.m.
