Greenwood-based Countybank has announced plans to add branches in the Upstate.

According to a news release, the bank is developing full-service branches in Greer and Anderson with both branches expected to open in mid-May.

The Greer branch will be located at 103 N. Main St. and the Anderson location will be at 300 N. Main St., according to the release.

“We are proud to expand the reach of our broad range of financial services and to deliver them in the personal manner that only a true community bank can,” said Ken Harper, executive vice president and COO of Countybank, in the release. “We have a very long track record of investing in the communities where we work, live and play. Both Greer and Anderson are at the heart of our strategy of focusing on growth and service solely within the Upstate of South Carolina – this is our home.”

The company has offices in Greenville and Greenwood including subsidiaries Countybanc Insurance, Countybank Wealth Management, Countybank Trust Services and Countybank Mortgage.

“Countybank is built for business and is intent on being the local community bank of choice in the Upstate,” said Thornwell Dunlap, president and CEO of Countybank, in the release. “We continue to expand our Countybank and TCB Corp. franchise selectively as we assess all strategies to build shareholder value.”

In addition to the expansion announcement, Countybank recently named Greer Mayor Rick Danner as its vice president of business development. In Anderson, Glenn Buddin is the vice president, Anderson market executive, according to the company.
