Associated Packaging Inc., a Greer-based corrugated packaging and digital production company, has been acquired by an Illinois-based packaging company.

KapStone Paper and Packaging Corp. said it has completed acquiring the assets of API in a news release. Details of the acquisition were not disclosed.

“The acquisition of API further enhances KapStone's footprint in the strategic Southeast market,” said Matthew Kaplan, president and CEO of KapStone, in the release. “The acquisition strengthens our goal of increasing integration, providing additional internal opportunities for our overall business. We believe API brings immediate value to our overall business strategy.”

API has a newly-remodeled 240,000-square-foot facility in Greer and employs 77.

“API is pleased to become a part of the KapStone family. KapStone's emphasis on innovation, quality and service as well as their Think Big, Act Small philosophy aligns perfectly with the values of API,” said Scott and Brad Dorris, co-owners of API, in the release. “We look forward to growing our business in the Southeast market and leveraging our relationships with existing national customers to grow national accounts for KapStone.”
