Music Industry Studies at the University of South Carolina is different from any other program in the country. What sets us apart from any other program are the out of classroom experiences. Students within the program apply for internships at events, such as music festivals or music conventions, to work in different departments throughout the duration of the experience. Those selected to go have the opportunity to see all the moving parts that go into making a festival happen, but they don’t just get to see, they are a part of the team. This sets them up for opportunities such as external internships and job offers. The goal of the Music Industry Studies program at UofSC is post-college success. With the curriculum and experiences offered, the students who complete this program will enter their field of choice with the advantage of already understanding how it works. For example, Trips such as the Danny Wimmer presents festivals allow students to have unique and life-changing experiences. Being able to engage with a festival from the build through close allows students to see and understand the mechanisms and devices required for success. Students who attend these experiential trips can freely explore possible career paths and begin building invaluable resume materials along with the network contacts necessary to succeed. Any money raised during our benefit concert will directly benefit future students attending any Music Industry Experience trips. With reduced costs, students will pay less out of pocket, allowing students of any financial standing to have access to this incredible opportunity.
