Molina Healthcare of South Carolina is joining forces with the city of North Charleston and other local organizations to host a free community baby shower for new and expecting moms. Molina will distribute approximately 100 diaper bags filled with baby essentials such as diapers, wipes, medicine spoons, clothes, blankets and bibs. Guests will also enjoy dinner and have the opportunity to participate in raffles for prizes donated by the city, such as a crib, changing table and much more. Community Impact Outreach, a local nonprofit, will also provide giveaways for the moms and moms-to-be.

Additionally, The Lowcountry Pregnancy Center will host a brief presentation on important prenatal and postnatal health topics so attendees can have a healthy pregnancy and baby. North Charleston Mayor Keith Summey, Molina Healthcare of South Carolina President Dora Wilson and City Councilmember Rhonda Jerome will join the baby shower’s festivities.

This event is Molina Healthcare of South Carolina’s seventh and final community baby shower of 2018. Molina hosts these events across the state in a continued effort to create awareness about the importance of prenatal and postnatal care. Improving birth outcomes and reducing infant mortality rates can often be achieved through education and healthy choices, and this event seeks to give families expecting a baby the resources to help them get the care they need.
