A Greenville utility has named a new leader.
Greenville Water has appointed Jeffrey W. Boss to serve as CEO of Greenville Water effective July 1, 2023. Boss has been serving as interim CEO since March 27 following the retirement of the previous CEO, David Bereskin.
“After an extensive nationwide search, we are confident that Jeff is the most qualified candidate to lead Greenville Water,” Greenville Water Chair, Phillip Kilgore said in a news release. “He has had significant industry experience during his career and has provided exemplary service to Greenville Water and the greater Greenville community. We are very excited about the future of Greenville Water under Jeff’s leadership”
Boss joined Greenville Water as chief operations officer 2018, according to the release. Since then, he has introduced innovative utility technology to Greenville Water’s engineering, water production and distribution systems. In particular, Boss has led efforts to develop a world class enterprise asset management program; to optimize chemical usage in the water treatment operations; and to modernize system infrastructure.
With over 25 years of water industry experience, Boss has held key leadership roles in comparable organizations, the release stated.. His expertise lies in introducing industry leading practices to ensure quality water delivery and stewardship of utility assets and infrastructure, fostering strong relationships with stakeholders, and creating and cultivating high-performing teams.
Boss is a graduate o of the University of Georgia and is a registered professional engineer in South Carolina.p
