Greenville area saw more than $335 million in capital investments last year

The Greenville Area Development Corporation announced at its annual meeting May 9 that it worked with 21 relocating and existing companies last year that created 1,789 new jobs and made $335.9 million in capital investments.

Wages for the new jobs are expected to pay above existing county averages, according to a news release distributed after the meeting.

The development corporation was created to promote and enhance quality of life in Greenville county by facilitating growth and investment. Since its founding, the organization has announced more than 23,000 new jobs and $4 billion in capital investment, according to the news release.

Greenville Area Development Corporation Chair Debbie Nelson presented the Chairman’s Award to John Sandfort, senior director of campus operations for Honeywell Aerospace, for the company’s impact on the economy and growth of Greenville County.  Located in Greer, Honeywell Aerospace has more than 280 employees in Greenville County and has invested more than $95 million in its local operations. 

Honeywell Aerospace produces aviation engine components, special advanced coating processes and other aviation services to its customers.
