The Appalachian Regional Commission has gifted Greenville Technical Charter High School with a $231,573 grant to boost the school’s technology program and aviation-based STEM curriculum to strengthen skills is science, technology, engineering and math.
Greenville Technical Charter School is the first in Greenville County to receive the grant as the high school launches its new student learning center at the end of the month. Funding will be used to expand the school’s infrastructure and technology, as well as its foundational, extracurricular and Aircraft Owners and Pilot Association STEM coursework, according to a news release.
The commission designates grants and contracts from funds appropriated each year by Congress to state, local and governmental entities, local governing boards and nonprofits that impact economic development in the Appalachian region.
