Following the Anderson Regional Airport’s terminal ribbon cutting on Sept. 25 — delayed due to COVID-19 — the airport has added Clemson Air Charter to its list of tenants.

“We couldn’t be happier to have Clemson Air Charter joining the family at Anderson Regional. People have been wanting this kind of service for years and we are happy to deliver,” Anderson County Council Vice-Chair Brett Sanders said in a news release.

Clemson Air Charter owner and operator John Von Kaenel has more than 15 years of experience as a commercial airline pilot and charter operator. He said he looks forward to serving the Anderson area residents seeking to use his service for business or leisure travel.

Other tenants at the terminal include Federal Aviation Administration-designated medical examiner Dr. John Hunt, Flight School of Anderson and Heli-Plane Aviation, offering aircraft inspection authorized mechanic services, according to the release.

“These are the types of aviation-related businesses that we’ve been working hard to recruit to Anderson Regional Airport,” airport manager Brett Garrison said in the release. “Operations such as this help us provide better service to the community while also enhancing the utility of our facility.”
