Hall Management Group has purchased Maverick Southern Kitchens’ restaurant portfolio, which includes High Cotton Charleston, High Cotton Greenville, Slightly North of Broad and Old Village Post House.
The four restaurants will now operate under Hall Management Group, owned by Bill Hall, along with Halls Chophouse and Rita’s Seaside Grille at Folly Beach, according to a news release from the group. Charleston Cooks in Charleston, Columbia and Greenville will continue to be owned and operated by Maverick Southern Kitchens.

“We are happy to welcome Maverick Southern Kitchens’ restaurants and employees into the Hall family,” Hall said in a statement. “Dick Elliott has been a respected and like-minded friend, and I am honored to carry on the legacy of his 25-year labor of love. Dick’s commitment to the gold standard in hospitality and his genuine respect for employees and customers represents a philosophy that I truly admire and share.”
The newly expanded Hall Management Group will keep Maverick Southern Kitchens Director of Operations David Marconi, as well as Executive Chef Frank Lee and general managers Jill Maynard, Peter Pierce, Katie Hajjar and Chet Green, the news release said.
“In the last 25 years, the restaurants of Charleston have risen to the top tier in the country, and I have been privileged to participate,” Elliott said in a statement. “I am overwhelmingly grateful to all our employees who have been indispensable in building the company’s success, and I am immensely thankful to the Charleston and Greenville communities for their years of loyal support.”
Beginning Friday and lasting through the remainder of 2015, Hall Management Group will continue the Maverick Collection customer loyalty rewards program, the news release said. The program will not be available at Halls Chophouse, Rita’s Seaside Grille or the Charleston Cooks stores.
