The Greenville Chamber of Commerce has started its search for a new president and CEO, and it has selected Waverly Partners to lead it. Waverly Partners specializes in recruiting chamber and other C-level executives and has 10 offices across the country, with one in Charleston.
The chamber’s board of directors formed a search committee after current president and CEO Ben Haskew announced his plans for retirement in early 2016. The committee, made up of nine business and community representatives, was charged with finding the new CEO to lead the chamber and advance its vision to continually improve the quality of life in the community and facilitate business success. Waverly Partners was chosen following a request for proposals.
Waverly Partners held three focus groups with business representatives and community members to shape the profile for the chamber’s next CEO. The position profile is available on the chamber’s website.
Haskew has served as president and CEO at the Greenville Chamber of Commerce since 2003. Prior to that he served four years as director of the Florida Chamber Federation, an initiative of the Florida Chamber of Commerce. He served as president and CEO of the Spartanburg Area Chamber of Commerce from 1985 until 1995, when he assumed the president’s position of the Cobb County Chamber in Georgia.
