The Greenville Drive and city of Greenville opened District 356 to the public Wednesday night during the celebration of the city's birthday at a Greenville Drive game at Fluor Field.

The pedestrian-friendly remake of Field Street, a project launched in early 2021 to model Fenway Park's Jersey Street in Boston, was forged through a public-private partnership between the city and the Greenville Drive.

At the event, called Green Day, the Greenville Drive honored Burke Royster, superintendent of Greenville County Schools as the celebration's 16th annual honoree, according to the announcement.
