Sage Automotive Interiors acquires Adient

Listen to this articleSage Automotive Interiors has completed its $175 million acquisition of Adient, an automotive fabrics company, after receiving approval for the agreement reached on March 5.
Sage Automotive Interiors, which is headquartered in Greenville, has 30 locations across 19 countries. The company said the move will help expand its growing European customer base, according to a news release.
“Strengthening our position in Europe will enable us to better support multiple OEMS locally and more broadly as we combine the best of both company operations,” Dirk Pieper, CEO of Sage Automotive Interiors, said in the release.
Adient, previously based in Ireland, is now headquartered in Plymouth, Mich.
“We look to expand capacity and capability for automotive interior products to the European market to continue our global position as the No. 1 preferred automotive interiors company,” Pieper said in the release.
