Pregis establishes operations in Anderson County

With more than 25 facilities in North America, Pregis serves a wide variety of consumer and industrial market segments including food, pharmaceutical, health care, e-commerce, automotive and construction, according to a news release.

“We believe that this new facility will be the most technologically advanced extrusion facility in North America,” Kevin Baudhuin, CEO and president of Pregis, said in the news release. “The facility has been staffed with technology and market leaders who are focused on developing extruded films that have been engineered to meet market-driven performance requirements.”

Located at 200 Masters Boulevard in Anderson, the company’s 168,000-square-foot facility will produce engineered films for use in performance-oriented packaging solutions for food, consumer packaged goods and medical device applications. The plant will also include a world-class film laboratory to develop and test materials.

“On behalf of Anderson County, I would like to welcome Pregis to the area. I am pleased that Pregis has invested $80 million and will be manufacturing advanced protective packaging in Anderson County, significantly enhancing the diversity of the county’s technical offering,” Anderson County Council Chairman Tommy Dunn said in the release. “I am very excited this will add an additional 120 jobs in Anderson County.”

The new facility is expected to be operational by September.

“The decision by Pregis to invest $80 million in Anderson County is another indication that our state’s business-friendly climate provides the perfect foundation for companies of all types to be successful,” Secretary of Commerce Harry M. Lightsey III said in the release. “I look forward to their growth and wish them success here in South Carolina.”
