Regional Management moving to new headquarters

Regional Management Corp., a Greenville-based company that specializes in consumer finance products, has announced it is moving its headquarters.

According to CBRE, the real estate company represented Regional Management in obtaining a lease agreement for a 52,000 square-foot building at 979 Batesville Road in Greer. CBRE’s Charles Gouch represented Regional Management Corp. in in the lease while Colliers International represented the landlord.

The owner of record, according to Greenville County tax records, is GBP Management Inc. Prior to their ownership, the property was owned by Liberty Property Limited Partnership. The terms of the lease were not released.

“As Regional Management continues to expand, it became critical to leverage their real estate strategy to create a work environment that attracts and retains talent while making their operations more efficient,” said Gouch, in the release. “979 Batesville Road was one of the most attractive blocks of large space available in the Greenville suburban market.”

Michael Dunn, executive chairman of Regional Management Corp., said the company is working towards consolidation of different South Carolina offices into one central home office. He said the goal was to move that goal forward while staying in the Greenville suburban market.

“Further, the increased space contained within our new location should allow us to become more efficient with respect to our overall operational and collections infrastructure,” Dunn said.

The company has offices in South Carolina, Texas, North Carolina, Tennessee, Alabama, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Georgia and Virginia.

CBRE recently reported record low vacancy rates for the Greenville market and the lease of this space by Regional Management Corp. will further drive that vacancy rate down, according to Brian Reed, research manager for CBRE.

“This transaction will likely result in a new record at the close of Q2,” Reed said. “This is indicative of the underlying need for new space in the market.”
