Bank of America will move to Camperdown

Bank of America in Greenville will move from its iconic location at 101 N. Main St. in Greenville to the Camperdown building under construction at 423. S. Main St. The bank also will move its 300 N. Main St. branch to the new location.

About 90 employees will have a new place to work when the new lease becomes effective at the beginning of 2020, according to Jennifer Darwin, with Bank of America’s communications office.

There are no immediate changes for customers, according to a Bank of America news release. The new lease for 32,000 square feet of space will include signage at the top of the building and a retail presence at ground level, including ATMs.

“We will be bringing together our consumer, home loans, U.S. trust, Merrill Lynch, commercial and business banking teammates to help deliver the best service and solutions,” Stacy Brandon, Bank of America Greenville market president, said in the release.

RealOp Investments, operating partner for the group that owns 101 N.Main, was already planning renovations to the building and said in a statement that they will begin looking for a new tenant.

"RealOp Investments has a strong relationship with Bank of America across the Southeast as well as downtown Greenville. While we would certainly love to see that continue at 101 N. Main, this provides us the opportunity to rebrand this iconic Class A office tower in the epicenter of one of the most dynamic downtowns in America,” Chip Hunt, vice president of asset management for RealOp, said in the statement.

“Earlier this month, we announced extensive building improvements including lobby renovations, exterior renovations and technological system upgrades to ensure 101 North Main remains one of the prime office locations in the state for new and existing businesses,” the statement said.
