USC Upstate, SunTrust partnering on financial literacy series

Listen to this articleSunTrust Bank and USC Upstate are working together on a five-week financial literacy program that begins next month.
The SunTrust Financial Literacy Series, which focuses on financial decision-making through the George Dean Johnson Jr. College of Business and Economics, is free for USC Upstate students; others can attend for $10.
Becky Goessel, a CPA and USC Upstate accounting instructor, will teach the class, which includes topics such as credit scores, debt management, making large purchases, insurance, savings, investments and more.
The series begins Sept. 4 and runs through Oct. 2. Classes will start at 12:10 p.m. in Room 280 at The George, 160 E. St. John St. in downtown Spartanburg. Lunch will be provided.
