VentureSouth ranked in list of top 10 angel investment groups

The Angel Capital Association included VentureSouth in a list of top 10 angel investors in the organization’s 2020 Angel Funders Report.

The association selected investors for the list based on the total number of investments and capital deployed in 2019, according to a news release. VentureSouth, which was recognized as one of the top 10 angel investment groups in the nation by the ACA in 2018 and by CB Insights in 2014, deployed 30 investments worth $12.7 million last year.

Other investment groups included on the North American list included California’s Tech Coast Angels and New York’s Golden Seeds and New York Angels.

“We are honored to be recognized again as a top 10 angel group by the ACA and are proud that the repeat award recognizes our continued growth and the consistency of our approach to early-stage investing,” Paul Clark, managing director of VentureSouth, said in the release. “We appreciate our highly engaged investors who are helping us accelerate investments in promising ventures across the Southeast.”

The Angel Capital Association is the largest network of angel groups in the world, according to the release. More than 14,000 members and 250 angel groups are a part of the organization.
