Zooming In: SCBio hosts Life Sciences Boot Camp

SCBio’s Life Sciences Boot Camp: Building Your Brand & Business in a Pandemic will go live Sept. 23 online from 8:15 a.m. until 12:15 p.m. and feature six panel sessions and a virtual networking event.

The event, free for all SCBio members and investors and $50 for all non-members, will “inform and connect businesses, educators and professionals from across the state on leveraging opportunities, identifying trends and overcoming challenges that face organizations interested in tapping into South Carolina’s fastest-growing industry segment,” according to a news release.

Twenty speakers will cover topics including “Search for a Cure,” “Marketing in a Pandemic: Building Your Brand and Your Topline,” “Best Practices in Talent Recruiting, Retention and Development,” “Partnering Effectively with Higher Education and Research Universities,” “Leading Virtual Teams Effectively” and “Pivoting with a Partner.”

Sharon Lamberton, executive of PhRMA; Lou Kennedy, CEO of Nephron Pharmaceuticals Corp.; Jimmy Dascani of Arthrex; and Heather Hoopes-Matthews of NP Strategies are a few of the speakers for the event. The networking session following the program will also put attendees in touch with economic development professionals including Womble Bond Dickinson’s Stephanie Few, Nexsen Pruet’s Tushar Chikhliker and Good Growth Capital’s John Osborne for conversations on onshoring, financial incentives, capital accessibility and other topics, according to the release.
