The Greenville Chamber has launched Community Insights, a new data visualization dashboard designed as a tool to help the business community, residents and policymakers better understand and target the needs of the community.
“In the fall of 2019, the Greenville Chamber hosted more than 100 business and community leaders for an Intercommunity Leadership Visit in Columbus, Ohio,” Carlos Phillips, CEO and president of the Greenville Chamber, said in a statement. “We learned that their community was aligned around certain data sets that helped them drive community change and economic growth.”
Community Insights, created in partnership with MySidewalk, is an interactive site that presents insights into areas including demographic, economic, workforce, and quality of life data. The dashboard identifies Greenville's existing economic conditions and changes in real time and also anticipates future conditions, according to a news release.
“In order to serve our community, we have to have a comprehensive understanding of the issues and opportunities,” Phillips said in a news release. “Community Insights will allow us to develop more data-driven solutions to the unique needs of our region.”
Accelerate, the Chamber’s private-sector fueled economic development initiative, set aside funding for the dashboard initiative.
