J. Davis Construction has started work on a new industrial warehouse training facility for Tri-County Technical College. The new facility is being constructed at 5231 U.S. Highway 76 at the college’s Sandy Springs Industrial Technology Center.
The 9,000-square-foot building will include open laboratory space, a manufacturing simulator, classrooms and office space, according to a news release, which also said the facility will aid in preparing future workers for new industries moving into Anderson County.
“We take pride in being sure we are preparing our graduates technically for what they will see in today’s workplace,” Doug Allen, department head of industrial technology at Tri-County Tech, said in the release. “Graduates will be ready for the professional side of the job as well as the technical side of the job.”
Construction is expected to be finished by the end of the year, the release said.
