Bank of America’s Fall for Greenville, presented by Pepsi, may not be taking place in booths on city streets this year, but it will offer guests an opportunity to sample the city’s culinary offerings at their own pace.

The event, featuring a line-up of virtual musical performances and cooking demonstrations on the site’s Facebook page, will be held from Oct. 9-11. Organizers plan to launch A Taste of Our Town Digital Discount Book, presented by Truist Culinary and Hospitality Innovation Center, during the event, featuring more than 40 discounts for 35 local restaurants valued at over $350, according to a news release.

Patrons who purchase the $20 book and use coupons at more than half of the participating restaurants will be eligible for two festival shirts, $100 in meal tickets, parking vouchers and a stay at the AC Hotel in Greenville for next year’s festival, according to the release. A portion of proceeds from the discount book sales will benefit five local nonprofits.

“We are thrilled to have found new, engaging and creative ways to deliver an experience that is in line with what our community looks forward to every year,” Megan Finnern, Fall for Greenville board chair, said in the release. “While the festival may look different this year, our mission remains the same in shining a spotlight on the restaurants, musicians and nonprofit organizations that make our community such a wonderful place to live, work and play.”

Virtual culinary events planned for the festival include a Mich Ultra Virtual Beer Garden tasting, Kilwin Chocolate’s “How to Make Fudge” demonstrations and a broadcast of “In the Kitchen with Chef Freidank from Table 301 Catering & Kitchen.” Live-streamed concerts will bring local country music artist Nikki Lane; a local progressive bluegrass act, My Girl My Whiskey & Me; Mac Arnold & Plate Full O’ Blues; the Greenville Jazz Collective; and the Sharon Jones Tribute Band to the virtual stage. A local musician support tab has been added to the festival website along with a Spotify playlist featuring tunes from the past decade of Fall for Greenville.

“The Fall for Greenville organizers have done a tremendous job of transforming this iconic local event to meet the challenges of our current environment,” Stacy Brandon, Upstate market president of Bank of America, said in the release. “It’s truly inspiring to see how Greenville is coming together during this health and humanitarian crisis to continue to support our nonprofits through events like this one. We are so proud to partner with the city and Fall for Greenville to continue to deliver the local experiences people look forward to each year, while staying safe and socially distanced.”
