Synnex Corp. is teaming up the Berkshire Hathaway chemical company Lubrizol to distribute a plastic powder used for skin-contact 3D printing applications.

Manufacturers can also use the substance while creating personal protective equipment, footwear, wearable electronics and prosthetic devices, according to a news release.

Lubrizol’s Estane 3D TPU M95A, a type powder thermoplastic polyurethane, is the only certified solution for certain 3D printing product lines for Hewlett Packard, and Synnex is the only HP 3D distributor in the U.S. and Canada, according to the release.

“Estane 3D TPU M95A TPU's versatility, durability and barrier properties coupled with the leading 3D printing technology from HP bring extraordinary value in these vital applications," David Dennis, executive vice president of product management of Synnex, said in the release.
