Greenville Technical College freezes tuition for spring

Costs will not increase for Greenville Technical College students as they grapple with the economic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Greenville Tech Area Commission approved another tuition and fee freeze through spring 2021. The college also froze tuition and fees last summer, according to a news release.

The school’s board hopes that holding costs steady will encourage students to graduate and help rebuild the economy as conditions improve, according to the release.

Greenville County residents pay $2,389 in tuition for 12 credit hours, or $1,069 for those who qualify for lottery tuition assistance, while out-of-county residents pay $2,593, or $1,273 for lottery fund recipients.

“With the uncertainty of these times, families need to know that the college is here to support them in any way possible,” Keith Miller, president of Greenville Technical College, said in the release. “The board’s action demonstrates a commitment to the success of our students and that of our community.”
