Santee Cooper has given the Gaffney Board of Public Works a $632,500 grant to help fund infrastructure needs at the Gaffney Industrial Park, a planned 339-acre site on Chesnee Highway off Whelchel Road in Cherokee County.

The grant, from Santee Cooper’s Municipal Site Readiness Fund, will help provide sewer service for the park, which is located within Gaffney’s city limits. Gaffney Board of Public Works will provide the remaining $632,500 of the sewer cost, according to a news release.

“We are confident that our investment in infrastructure at this industrial park will help bring companies with good-paying jobs to this part of the state,” Pamela Williams, Santee Cooper’s senior vice president of corporate services, said in the release.

Tamarack Investments LLC, a privately held real estate firm based in Atlanta, is the project’s developer. Consulting and engineering services were provided by Atwell LLC of Marietta, Ga., which certified the site.
