The Metrology Solutions Expo takes place May 2-3 in Greenville’s TD Convention Center with a schedule of attractions for manufacturing executives, production engineers and quality engineers. The Metrology Solutions Expo is focused on precision measuring (metrology) technologies, instruments, systems and automation engineering in industrial manufacturing applications, making it the only trade show of its kind in the southeast, according to an even press release.

In addition to hands-on live demonstrations of the latest metrology and automation technologies by exhibitors, experts from sponsoring companies will teach training sessions about basic manufacturing quality techniques and principles. The training schedule and instructors include:

• Basic GD&T Principles by Greg Calabria, ZEISS Industrial Technology

• How Do I Plug into Industry 4.0? by David Wick, ZEISS Industrial Technology

• Principles of Hardness Testing by Walter Wardzala, Mitutoyo America

• You Won’t Err with Air: Basics of Air Gaging by George Schuetz, Mahr Exactly

• Force and Material Testing Made Easy by Rick Lasure, The L.S. Starrett Co.

“These seminars not only provide continuing education, but help attendees better understand the variety of available measuring methodologies,” says Dan Carter, president, MSI-Viking Gage, said in the press release. “Metrology technology is changing at a faster pace than ever before.  The purpose of this show is to give manufacturing professionals first-hand experience with the newest quality control techniques and solutions.”

The lunch time Keynote Speech on May 2nd is “Onward and Upward: The Machine Tool Market for the Coming Year”, and will be delivered by Chris Downs, assistant director for strategic analytics at the Association for Manufacturing Technology

Joe Gibbs Racing will feature the #18 M&Ms car and driving simulator pod. The #18 car is driven by Kyle Busch who has 43 career NASCAR wins as well as 243 top 10 finishes. Attendees will have an opportunity test their skills in the driving simulator, and to take pictures and selfies with the car during the show. Show exhibitors, Mahr and MSI-Viking Gage are technology sponsors of the Joe Gibbs Racing Team.
