Engineering group moving from Seneca to Greenville

The National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying is relocating its headquarters to Greenville from its current location in Seneca. The new headquarters will occupy 70,600 square feet at 200 Verdae Blvd.

“The new headquarters will provide a better position for the growth of the organization and allow NCEES to better support its member boards and the professions of engineering and surveying,” CEO David Cox said in a news release. “NCEES is entering its second century of advancing licensure for engineers and surveyors and this move will help us better fulfill our mission to safeguard the health, safety and welfare of the public.”

The National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying is a nonprofit organization made up of the engineering and surveying licensing boards from across the United States and its territories. It provides a range of services to support licensure and public protection, including developing the exams used to license professional engineers and surveyors.

“County Council is very pleased to welcome the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying, including their 60-plus associates and professional team members, to their new home in our community,” H.G. “Butch” Kirven Jr., Greenville County Council chairman and Greenville Area Development Corp. director, said in the release. “As a respected national center for engineering, surveying and construction, Greenville County appreciates the key role NCEES plays in safeguarding the safety, health and welfare of the American public, and we welcome the contributions and prestige that such an acclaimed national organization brings to Greenville County.”

The relocation will be completed in the spring of 2020, which will coincide with the organization’s 100th anniversary, the release said.
