Advanced Manufacturing & Power coming to Abbeville

Advanced Manufacturing & Power Systems Inc., a DeLand, Fla.-based manufacturer of generator enclosures, is investing $2.3 million in a new operation at Abbeville County’s business incubator. The company’s first S.C. venture includes plans to add 48 jobs over the next five years.

The 16-year-old company owned by Pacific International LLC is one of two Florida-certified, high-velocity hurricane-zone-rated manufacturers. Pacific International is an affiliate of the Triple Five Group.

A company statement said expanding to South Carolina will better serve its growing customer base.

“This is just a first step as we look forward to hopefully significantly expanding this and other businesses into the state,” said Ira J. Perimuter, the company’s chairman and managing director of T5 Equity Partners LLC.

The company is leasing space in the Abbeville County Business Incubator at Lakelands Commerce Center near S.C. Highway 72. Company executives said they expect to be fully operating by January.

The S.C. Coordinating Council for Economic Development has approved job development credits.

Company President Joseph Scofield said the “collaboration between the S.C. Department of Commerce and the economic development group of Abbeville County has been exemplary.”

The company’s products include complete power systems, enhancements to systems such as enclosures, custom fuel tanks and refurbishment.
