National health care insurance nonprofit Fair Health has teamed up with the S.C. Workers Compensation Commission to update the state’s fee schedule as of April 1.

"We are very gratified to assist Oklahoma, South Carolina and Kentucky with their workers' compensation fee schedules through review of data trends, Medicare rates and various methodologies," Robin Gelburd, president of Fair Health, said in a news release.

The nonprofit analyzed the impact of different conversion factors on projected expenses under the program and used data from the commission to fill in the gaps left by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services in the schedule. Colorado, Georgia, Louisiana and Mississippi have also used the group to calculate workers compensation fee schedules, according to the release.

"Fair Health brought additional layers of analysis to our fee schedule, which provided a new perspective that added to our insights," Scott Beck, chairman of the commission, said in the release.
