Prisma Health has completed construction on a new $9 million primary care practice in Fountain Inn to meet the growing needs of that rural Upstate community.
Prisma Health Primary Care-Fountain Inn, which offers comprehensive primary care services to both adults and children, began seeing patients on Monday, April 10.
The 15,000-square-foot building at 200 N. Nelson Drive will be staffed by eight providers, according to a news release. It has 24 exam rooms and houses radiology services and a laboratory on site.
The approximately $9 million project is the first Prisma Health medical practice in the Fountain Inn area.
“I’m thrilled about the opening of this new practice for the Fountain Inn community,” Dr. Jeremy Byrd, the practice’s medical director, said in the news release. “Our providers come from a range of primary care fields — including family medicine, pediatrics and internal medicine for adults and children — so we have a unique level of expertise to treat the entire family. At Prisma Health, we pride ourselves on providing excellent accessible primary care, and this new facility will give us the capacity to serve this community and surrounding areas for years to come.”
The practice offers a full range of family and gynecologic care, including annual checkups; management of chronic diseases such as diabetes, cholesterol high blood pressure; preoperative medical evaluations and Medicare wellness visits, the release said. It will also offer same-day appointments.
