Touting a menu with “delectable yet affordable” items, Caviar & Bananas owners Kris and Margaret Furniss said they are on track to open their first Greenville location on Aug. 5.
Caviar & Bananas already has two locations in Charleston with a third on the way. The Greenville offering will be located in One City Plaza and will have 4,700 square feet of space that includes outdoor seating.
“We are very detailed and very hands on,” Kris Furniss said. “We want to make sure that every i is dotted and every t is crossed.”
The new restaurant will include similar menu items as the Charleston locations with the intent of evolving part of the menu to more local flair. The restaurant will also feature made-to-order salads and sandwiches, a tea and espresso bar and baked goods, as well as wines and craft beers. In addition, Caviar & Bananas will have delivery available and a gourmet to-go catering menu available for delivery and pickup.
In a statement announcing the opening date, Greenville Mayor Knox White said the new restaurant will be a welcome addition to the downtown area.
“The city is excited to welcome Caviar & Bananas to downtown as they become yet another wonderful addition to the new Laurens Street pedestrian district in One City Plaza,” White said, in the statement.
This marks the eighth year since the Furniss’ opened their first Caviar & Bananas in Charleston, and the couple have plans to open their fifth location in Nashville, Tenn., sometime in 2017.
