Clemson University will have free parking on its campus during the solar eclipse on Aug. 21.
The university will have six commuter parking lots open and available for free parking at 8 a.m. Aug. 21. The “Eclipse over Clemson” event will start at 1 p.m. behind the R.M. Cooper Library near the Watt Family Innovation Center.
Other free parking areas are Kite Hill, the Park-n-Ride lot at the intersection of highways 76 and 93, the intersection of Perimeter Road and U.S. Highway 76 and ADA compliant parking on the first row of the C-2 lot on the corner of Perimeter Road and Williamson Road. Transit service will be available from each lot to campus eclipse activities, according to the university.
There will be an event at the Snow Family Outdoor Fitness and Wellness Center on campus for $50 per vehicle.
In addition to Clemson University, there are several other locations in the Upstate hosting viewing events on Aug. 21.
