As dine-in restrictions lift across the country, spokespeople for the Spartanburg-based chain say Denny’s Corp. is committed to getting people back to work.

The company plans to open 10,000 manager, cook, server and host positions — among others — across the nation by the end of this year.

“With more and more of our restaurants reopening, Denny's is poised for growth,” John Miller, CEO of Denny's Corp., said in the release. “Guests are once again walking through our doors, and to meet this demand, support our franchisees and ensure the best dining experience possible, we and our franchisees will be hiring thousands of new Denny's employees across the nation.”

Since COVID-19 shuttered restaurant dining rooms across the country, Denny’s developed “sanitation specialist” positions at every restaurant. Sanitation specialists disinfect surfaces after each guest visit and share which spaces have been cleaned. The Spartanburg company also adjusted to the pandemic with family-sized take-home meals, grocery pick-up and curbside options.

“At Denny's, we've been eager to have our guests return for the meals they love, but we recognize that we will need a larger workforce to continue providing the best and safest experience possible,” Chris  Bode, COO for Denny's, said in the release. “Denny's isn't just a restaurant, it's a family and right now our mission is to ensure our franchisees have the talent they need to continue innovating and delivering the excellent guest experience Denny's is known for.”
