After analyzing pandemic projections and consultating with health care professionals, Greenville’s flagship culinary festival has traded its in-person festivities for a virtual event this year.

Bank of America Fall for Greenville plans to offer an online platform for the restaurants, musicians and nonprofit partners that usually would be marketing dishes and performing on downtown Greenville streets come October, according to a news release. More announcements are planned in the months ahead.

“We are thrilled to continue our support of the Fall for Greenville festival as it transitions to a virtual event this year,” Stacy Brandon, Upstate market president of Bank of America, said in the release. “Throughout this health care crisis, we’ve seen many changes, from canceled festivals around the country to a shift in new online and virtual events. Like our clients discovering new ways to do their banking online and through our mobile apps, we are excited to see how this new format continues to provide Greenville’s unique offerings to even more attendees.”

Next year will mark the festival’s 40th anniversary. Fall for Greenville’s coordinators plan to host a streetside event once again Oct. 8-10, 2021.
