Fortuitous geography is bringing another distribution center to the Upstate.
Clickstop Inc. of Urbana, Iowa, said opening the company’s first location outside of headquarters will enable the company to bump the number of U.S. companies reachable in one to two days from 60% to 80%, according to a news release.
Clickstop’s second location will be a 47,000-square-foot warehouse at 370 Old Laurens Road in Simpsonville. It will mean 12 new jobs for the community, the news release said.
“With our expansion to the East Coast, we will be able to reach nearly 80% of the U.S. within one to two business days, which is a gamechanger,” Allen DeHeck, vice president of supply chain for Clickstop, said in the release. The location also means additional inventory capacity and reduced freight cost, the company said.
“We pride ourselves on delivering an exceptional customer experience,” CEO Cari McCoy said in the release. “By reducing freight and other costs, we can continue to offer the best products even faster by being even closer to our east coast customers.”
Clickstop will start accepting inventory at the Simpsonville location in mid-February with the first outgoing shipment in the middle of March if everything stays on schedule, according to Jeremy Meyer, vice president of employee engagement. Construction schedule permitting, the site will be fully operational by May 31, he said in an email.
Clickstop was founded in 2005 as an e-commerce company and now owns six brands, including its flagship brand, US Cargo Control, which serve the professional trucking, rigging and moving sector. Other brands include Eco Foil, Fasteners Plus, Clean Laundry and Pepper Joe’s, a site the deals in seeds, plants and other items for spicy food lovers.
