Terms of the transaction, which was effective Nov. 30, were not disclosed.

Leadec said in a news release the acquisition strengthens the company’s Carolina hub and broadens its industry portfolio.

“Leadec has long been an established partner for the automotive and manufacturing industries. With IMS of Belton we are expanding our footprint in other industries, e.g., textile, health care and chemical industries, providing them with professionally managed solutions to maximize productivity and increase first-time quality,” Don Kennon, president of Leadec North America, said in the news release. “IMS of Belton ideally complements our service portfolio and is a great fit for us, as they are also committed to a proactive concept in safety.”

IMS of Belton has been in business since 1988, providing a turnkey project concept with one contractor. The company deploys 75 millwrights, welders, pipefitters, electricians and helpers to serve customers.

Leadec USA currently employs more than 2,100 people at 37 customer sites, with an annual turnover of around $240 million, the release said. Leadec in the United States is a company of the Leadec Group, headquartered in Germany and founded in 1962, with about 18,000 employees at more than 300 sites around the world.

“We have found a strong partner in Leadec who provides a sound base and will take us to the next level,” Kevin Craft, owner of IMS of Belton, said in the release. “We will continue to work with our clients to achieve the best results that ultimately minimize project timelines and reduce costs. In addition, we see significant opportunities to grow our business in the Anderson, Greenville and Spartanburg area by combining the opportunities of our diverse customer bases.”

Leadec, headquartered in Stuttgart, had sales of 830 million euros in 2020, the release said.
