Kentucky-based Ashland, a global specialty chemicals company, is expanding its existing Greenville County operations to accommodate continued growth. This new expansion is projected to bring at least $5.6 million of new capital investment to the Upstate, according to a news release from the S.C. Department of Commerce.
"This site investment reflects Ashland's continued commitment to investing in its portfolio of highly-differentiated specialty ingredients and helping deliver value to our customers," said Michael Casedonte, Piedmont plant manager, in the release.
Located at 410 Old Pelzer Road in Piedmont, Ashland’s Greenville County plant produces high-performance, pressure-sensitive adhesives and specialty resins. Ashland will be making upgrades to its infrastructure and production capabilities to support strategic growth in the specialty water-based adhesives markets.
A Fortune 500 company with customers in more than 100 countries, Ashland serves a wide range of consumer and industrial markets, including adhesives, architectural coatings, automotive, construction, energy, food and beverage, personal care and pharmaceutical, according to the release.
