Crimson Electric Inc. in Duncan acquired

Crimson Electric Inc. in Duncan has been purchased by Ohio Transmission Corp.

Crimson Electric will continue operating as it has in the past, and owner Charles Wilson and wife Debbie will stay with the company through the transition period, according to an announcement from the Ohio company.

Ohio Transmission is an industrial equipment service provider and distributor, headquartered in Columbus; Crimson Electric is an electrical apparatus service center, according to the news release. The company specializes in the repair and testing of AC/DC motors, servo motors, pumps and gear reducers.

“The southeastern United States is a rapidly growing industrial market, and Crimson Electric’s service focus provides a great opportunity to expand OTC’s geographic and product areas to better serve all of our customers,” Phil Derrow, president and CEO of Ohio Transmission Corp., said in the release.

Crimson Electric will continue to operate under the same name and with current local management. The company will become a division of OTP Industrial Solutions, which provides technical sales and service for industrial automation, motion control, fluid power, pumps, spray finishing, sealant and adhesive application, and power transmission systems and products.

With this acquisition, Ohio Transmission Corp. now has 35 locations with 14 service shops. The addition of Crimson Electric’s associates will expand Ohio Transmission Corp.’s existing workforce of more than 900 employees, according to the release.

 “As part of the OTP family, Crimson Electric will offer more resources, products and services to our customers,” Charles Wilson said in the release. “Our team, which is staying on, brings a wealth of knowledge to the motor repair industry by reducing interruption of operations for our customers, reducing downtime and providing value-added services and products.”

The Wilsons purchased the company in 1994.
