3M is investing $60 million over the next five years to increase its manufacturing capacity and enhance its infrastructure at the company’s Greenville operations.

The investment and expansion were facilitated by discretionary incentives approved by the Greenville County Council to encourage 3M to continue to grow and invest in the community, according to a news release.

“County Council is extremely pleased with 3M Co.’s decision to expand its operations in Greenville County. As a large, local employer, 3M Co. provides good career opportunities for people in our area,” Greenville County Council chairman Butch Kirven said in the release.

“This expansion also acknowledges the vital role of the excellent vocational and technical education programs available through Greenville Technical College and the public schools,” said Kirven, who also serves as Greenville Area Development Corp. director. 3M Co. is a leader among global advanced manufacturers and enjoys many benefits of its strategic location here.”

Located at 1400 Perimeter Road, 3M manufactures and distributes film, industrial adhesives and other materials and products used in electronics, packaging, health care and the automotive industry.
