Monti Inc., an industrial manufacturer, fabricator, powder coater, and specialized processor of electrical distribution components, announced plans Thursday to add a second location to its Greenwood County operations. The company plans to invest $3.8 million.

Located at 217 Joe Bernat Drive in Greenwood, the 33,000-square-foot facility will include the installation of an automated fluidized epoxy line and other related equipment, according to a news release.

The company did not say how many new jobs would come from the new location but the news release said hiring will begin before the end of the year.

The Cincinnati-based company also has manufacturing facilities in Sumter and Riverview, Mich.

Monti customers are electrical distribution equipment manufacturers and service providers. The company provides a range of electrical industry components, including insulators, conductors and steel parts, the release said.

“Monti is fortunate to have the opportunity to invest once again in Greenwood County,” COO Jay Binder said in the release. “Our additional location will be home for our state-of-the-art automated busway epoxy process and will serve as the foundation of what we hope to be a future Busway Center of Excellence. Monti plans to showcase our unique combination of capacity, ingenuity, and capability in this location for years to come.”

The announcement was made by the Greenwood Partnership Alliance.
