Inman First Baptist Church will raise the first walls on Inman’s first Habitat for Humanity home on at 8:30 a.m. Thursday at 10 Second St. This is the first time Habitat for Humanity has gone beyond the borders of the city of Spartanburg, according to a news release.

“This partnership has been absolutely wonderful,” said Lee Close, Habitat for Humanity Spartanburg executive director, in the release. “Inman First Baptist reached out to us some time ago and said they were saving funds for a Habitat home. They have worked and have met their goal and have been very excited to get started. This will be a wonderful day as we celebrate this milestone together.”

The Inman First Baptist Church congregation raised $70,000 for the Habitat home, which will take about three months to complete and will be constructed on a lot donated by Inman Mills, the release said.
