Doughnut sales to help Red Cross

Farm Fresh Fast, in Greenville, released a Red Cross Relief Doughnut in an effort to raise money to help victims of Hurricane Florence. One dollar from each doughnut will benefit the American Red Cross.

The Red Cross Relief Doughnut is a strawberry shortcake donut, made with local strawberries from Hurricane Creek Farms, topped with vanilla icing. It's sugar free, gluten free and vegan-friendly.

 

TD Bank supports storm relief efforts

The TD Charitable Foundation, the charitable giving arm of TD Bank, is donating $100,000 to support immediate relief efforts in North Carolina and South Carolina in the wake of Hurricane Florence. TD will provide additional donations to support recovery efforts after impact assessments have been conducted to determine needs, according to a news release.

The relief assistance from the TD Charitable Foundation includes $50,000 to the American Red Cross of Cape Fear in North Carolina and $50,000 to the American Red Cross of Eastern South Carolina.

 

Duke Energy donates to recovery efforts

Duke Energy has given $145,000 in grants to the American Red Cross for Hurricane Florence response and recovery. The funds will support disaster response, including support for Red Cross shelters, volunteer training and mobilization of volunteers.

As a Red Cross Disaster Responder member, Duke Energy provides support for Disaster Relief, ensuring the Red Cross can pre-position supplies, secure shelters, maintain vehicles and train volunteers, according to a news release.
