Companies donate to Pickens Shelter of Hope

J. Davis Construction is the latest company to donate time and resources toward the construction of Pickens Shelter of Hope.

The 5,000-square-foot facility for the homeless, which will be operated by Tracy and Sunshine Gantt Ministries, is in an existing building at 141 City View Circle in Pickens. All work provided by J. Davis Construction is being done at no cost to the ministry, according to a news release.

“As a company who follows our faith and values helping those in need, this is a project that we had to be a part of,” said Joel Davis, president and owner of J. Davis Construction, in the release. “Knowing that our efforts will help those less fortunate in the community was all the motivation we needed to become involved.”

Other companies donating time and resources for the shelter include Complete Heating and Air, A&A Fire, Patriot Concrete, Tharp Plumbing, H&W Electrical, Maddox Plumbing, Lowes, Home Depot, Fixin It for Christ/Amazing Grace Church, Metrocon Concrete, Robert C. Cashion Architects, BB&T of Easley, Ron Barnett and Moen, the release said.

Renovations to the existing facility began at the end of February and are scheduled to be completed by July 2019, according to the release.
