The next community workshop in a Ten at the Top series marking its 10th year will take place in Laurens County. The organization is hosting workshops in all of the 10 Upstate counties, with each workshop focusing on an issue of interest to the people of that county.

The Laurens County program June 13 will include communities, businesses or organizations that are successfully working on similar issues in other parts of the Upstate.

The Laurens County meeting theme is “Cultivating Community Investment.” Allen Smith, president and CEO of the Spartanburg Area Chamber of Commerce, will share how Spartanburg has created a community culture that is investing in a wide range of initiatives that are helping to grow the physical infrastructure and the social capital within the Spartanburg community, according to a Ten at the Top announcement. Also participating in the program will be Greenwood County Council member Theo Lane, Greenville area community volunteer Lisa Stevens and Greenwood Area Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Angelle LaBorde.

In addition, leaders from within Laurens County will share some potential ideas and opportunities for cultivating community investment within Laurens County, the announcement said.

The Laurens County Workshop is free and open to the public, but advance registration is requested.
