Employees at the CresCom Bank branches in Greer, Taylors and Greenville raised $37,000 that was donated to 13 local non-profits and organizations in 2019.

Six years ago, Upstate bank employees rallied together to create a foundation to lead their own annual charitable giving effort — the CresCom Foundation, according to a news release. Through this foundation, bank employees made a commitment to personally donate their own money to benefit select local charities each year.

In 2019, the foundation benefitted Creative Advancement, Greer Christian Learning Center, Greer Community Ministries, Greer Relief, United Ministries, Piedmont Women’s Center, Taylors Free Medical,Upstate Warrior Solution, Daily Bread Ministries-Greer Soup Kitchen, Generations, Greenville County Youth Orchestra, Center for Developmental Services in Greenville and Communities in Schools of Greenville County, the news release said.

The donations will help afterschool programs for children in need, deliver care providers for children and adults with special needs, offer financial stability programs preparing veterans for meaningful employment at a livable wage, help hunger prevention and benefit medical services for women and those in need, the release said.

The CresCom Bank Foundation is made up of the Upstate branch employees that are personally invested in making a difference in their community. Each year the foundation hosts an application process where local charities can express their mission and request a donation to fulfill certain needs.
