The funds for the donation came from Draxlmaier employees who participated in various fundraising activities during the first two quarters of this year.

“The Draxlmaier Group is committed in assisting our local community,” Sandra Ganghofer, a sales assistant for the German-owned supplier, said in the news release. “We consider it our responsibility to help organizations whose mission is to support individuals who cannot help themselves.”

Greer Community Ministries provides freshly-prepared food to the elderly, as well as to home-bound and disadvantaged individuals in the greater Greer area through its partnership with Meals on Wheels America. The non-profit organization also runs a senior dining service and a food pantry, and supplies clothing to those in need through Sharon’s Closet.

“This donation will go a long way in providing meals to senior citizens in our area,” Donny Kauffman, executive director at Greer Community Ministries, said in the release. “We currently provide about 350 meals a day, so this donation will really help. We sincerely appreciate the Draxlmaier employees who made this possible. This says a lot about the company.”

Headquartered in Vilsbiburg, Germany, the Draxlmaier Group has been manufacturing complex electrical systems and auto interiors for automakers in the Americas since 1976. The company currently has 13 production sites in the region, including its U.S. headquarters in Duncan, where it has been manufacturing interior systems since 1996. The Draxlmaier Group also maintains logistics hubs in Chattanooga, Tenn., and Tuscaloosa, Ala., an engineering office in Mountain View, Calif., and a production site in Livermore, Calif.
