Much of my public service has involved working to open doors for others,” Kilgore said, in a news release. “Thus, I am particularly excited about the Chamber’s efforts to create opportunities for more of our citizens to participate in Greenville’s success and prosperity.”

Kilgore will be chairman-elect next year under Keith Miller, Greenville Technical College president. As chairman-elect, Kilgore will lead the board of advisors which is a group who meet quarterly to review business community needs and plan chamber initiatives.

“Over the years and specifically this past year, Phillip led the chamber in responding to the business and advocacy needs of our community,” said Brenda Thames, the chamber board’s current chairwoman. “In his role as vice chair for business advocacy, Phillip has been instrumental in ensuring the chamber has a voice in policy decisions that impact the business community.”

Kilgore has been a lawyer with Ogletree Deakins since 1986. He also serves on the Greenville Water Commission and the Boy Scouts of America’s Blue Ridge Council board.
