Blackstock Development LLC has purchased two acres of land along W. Main Street in Spartanburg. The company is assembling several opportunity zone parcels with plans to renovate or repurpose existing buildings, according to a news release.
Colliers International South Carolina’s D. Ralph Settle II represented the seller, 331 W. Main Street LLC. The parcels sold are at 331 and 335 W. Main St. in Spartanburg.
“The West Main Street corridor is a vital gateway into our downtown,” Jansen Tidmore, executive vice president of the Spartanburg Area Chamber of Commerce, said in the release. “This strategically located two-acre property has the potential to enhance and activate this corridor and with this transaction I believe we are moving closer to that goal."
Blackstock recently secured an abandoned textile mill site designation for the former Piedmont Bonded Warehouse and Compress Co. building as part of its redevelopment efforts in the area. The developer also recently developed a senior living project near the Westgate Mall in Spartanburg.
